A Gathering Place
Since 1977, Jimmy's has been Santee's Neighborhood restaurant and gathering place. We serve classic comfort dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
“I've been a customer for over thirty years.Every Sunday i have breakfast here.I'll be honest about the new ownership,i don't like what they're doing at all. They've gone to one slice of toast with your breakfast,a smaller portion of hash browns and now they're using a handheld device to take your order and have you pay your bill on it.How many hands has that thing touched before it gets to me ? I'm also not putting a tip on that thing,i feel the waitress/waiter should have the cash given to them. Now you've removed honey mustard salad dressing from your selection, why is that ? How hard is it to have a salad dressing stored in the fridge ? Half the place was closed off this morning for a remodel and that's good. They had plenty of staff yet i couldn't get my water refilled as my empty glass sat at the end of my table while they walked by me ten times ? The guy managing seems lost.I saw a couple come in and sit down just to leave five minutes later, don't know why but have an idea. These new owners are trying to fix something that wasn't broken and it isn't going to work.Maybe that's the plan, run it into the ground and put the Junction 52 there for the younger hipster crowd.I'll keep trying to give them my business but am starting to think it won't be for much longer.Where's Marie and her family that made this a place you always wanted to eat at ?”
